League 5 Details

Real clubs. Real players. Your chance to manage the English game.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 League 5 – The English Professional Game

This is the big one. League 5 is built entirely around real English football – real club names, real players, and configured differently to all previous Soccer Supremos leagues. If you’ve ever wanted to manage Arsenal, Sunderland, or even Accrington Stanley in a proper management simulation, this is your chance.

There are 64 clubs available, drawn from all four professional tiers of the English game. One of them could be yours.

📋 2. How Season 1 Works

Season 1 runs as a group stage. All 64 clubs are split into four groups of 16, and within your group you play every other club home and away across the 30-week season.

Where you finish in your group determines your division for Season 2:

Group FinishDivision for Season 2
Top 4 in groupDivision 1
5th – 8th in groupDivision 2
9th – 12th in groupDivision 3
Bottom 4 in groupDivision 4

Every game counts from week one. Finish top of your group and you’re in Division 1 when the proper seasons begin.

🆕 3. What Makes This League Different

League 5 introduces several things that have never been offered in Soccer Supremos before. Here’s what sets it apart.

2025/26 Player Database

A fully up-to-date player database reflecting the 2025/26 English football season. Real players, current clubs, current ratings. Every other league uses a fictional or older dataset – this one doesn’t.

All Clubs Start Equal

This is important – and it’s easy to assume otherwise. Just because you pick Liverpool doesn’t mean your squad will be stacked with superstars. Player names are real, but their in-game ratings and skills are set on a par with every other starting club. Mohamed Salah might be in your squad, but he’ll start at the same level as a striker at Barrow or Accrington Stanley. What separates clubs over time is how you develop your players, not the name on the shirt. The real English football theme is about authenticity and identity – it’s not a shortcut to a better squad.

Pick Your Own Starting Squad

In every other league, players are assigned to clubs at random during setup. Here, you choose your starting squad from the real-life players who actually play for your selected club. Take Arsenal, pick from Arsenal’s real roster. Take Salford City, same deal – though the ratings will be the same either way.

No Club Renaming – Ever

In other leagues, a manager who takes over an unmanaged club mid-season can rename it at the end of that season. Not here. Club names in League 5 stay authentic and fixed for the entire life of the league. Liverpool stays Liverpool.

Choose Your Starting Group

Season Ticket holders get to choose which of the four groups they start in. Free sign-ups don’t – their group is assigned when the league launches.

300 Setup Points

Every other league gives you 200 setup points at the start. League 5 gives you 300. The extra points can be spread across three areas: additional starting cash, adjusting player attributes (age, rating, experience), and starting with a non-player.

Maximum of 1 Starting Non-Player

Normally there’s no hard cap on how many non-playing staff you can start with – it’s just a question of what you can afford. League 5 limits you to one. Skills Coach, Fitness Coach, Youth Scout, Physiotherapist, or Personal Spy – pick wisely. It’s a meaningful constraint that adds a fresh angle to getting your club off the ground from day one.

🎫 4. Joining – Free Sign-Up vs Season Ticket

You can add your name to the waiting list for free, and your first 2 turns are free as well. There’s no obligation and no upfront cost just to show interest.

However, a free sign-up does not guarantee you a place. Free sign-ups can only select their club just before the league launches – and only if spaces remain at that point.

⚠️ Worth knowing: It’s not unusual for a new league to take several months to build up enough interest before it can get underway. I’ll keep everyone updated throughout the waiting period – but the best way to track progress yourself is to check back on the waiting list page and see how many spots have been claimed.

The Season Ticket changes all of that.

 Free Sign-Up£30 Season Ticket
Guaranteed place in the league
Club of your choice secured immediately
Choose your starting group
30 credits covering the full season
First 2 turns free

The aim is to fill the league with Season Ticket holders. If all 64 spots are claimed by managers who’ve committed, those on the free list will miss out. It keeps the league competitive and full of managers who are genuinely in for the long run.
