âšŊ About Soccer Supremos

Soccer Supremos is a Play-By-Mail (PBM) football management game – owned, built, and run by GAD Games (Pty) Ltd. You take charge of a club, submit your instructions online each week, and get your results back as a detailed PDF report. No hand-holding, no microtransactions, no algorithm deciding your fate. Just football management the way it used to be – and then some.

👤 The Person Behind It

I’m Sean Cleworth, and I run Soccer Supremos entirely in my spare time – evenings, weekends, and the occasional stolen lunch break. This is a one-man operation, not a studio. There’s no team, no investors, no PR department. Just me, a lot of code, and a game I’ve been obsessed with since the late 1980s. I launched GAD Games from my bedroom while still at school in the UK – which should tell you something about how long this has been part of my life. At its peak in the late ’80s and ’90s, Soccer Supremos was one of the largest PBM football management games in the world, running hundreds of leagues with over 10,000 active managers a week. Then, like most PBM games, it gradually wound down as the internet changed everything. Decades later, former managers kept asking if it was ever coming back. Around 2023, I took a proper look at the PBM landscape, liked what I saw, and spent the next two years rebuilding the game from scratch. I now live in Cape Town, South Africa, which means UK processing days are an interesting alarm-clock situation – but we make it work.

đŸ•šī¸ The Revival

Soccer Supremos officially relaunched in June 2024 – rebuilt entirely for the modern web, but faithful to the original game’s depth, character, and spirit. Same game. Proper tactics, detailed squad management, transfer markets, ground development, rivalries, and a weekly results PDF that takes more than five minutes to read properly. That’s the point. The relaunch followed a long playtest phase with managers from the original era, which meant the game hit the ground in reasonable shape rather than as a skeleton. It’s still growing – new features land regularly, and the full feature set is on track to be complete by end of 2026.
🔍 If you want to see what the game actually looks like before signing up, there are sample result PDFs on the Sample Results page. Worth a look – they give a proper sense of the depth involved.

🏆 Where Things Stand Right Now

As of early 2026, there are three active leagues running weekly, with a fourth in the process of filling up. Each league is 64 clubs across four divisions – promotion, relegation, cup competitions, the lot. Around 200 managers are currently playing across the active leagues.
  • ✅ Leagues 1, 2 and 3 – live and processing weekly
  • 🚀 League 4 – filling up now, targeting an April 2026 launch
  • đŸŽŸī¸ Free to join and try – 2 free turns on setup, no card required
New leagues are the best time to join – everyone starts on equal footing, no established clubs to compete with from day one. If League 4 interests you, the Club Listing page shows what’s still available.

💷 What It Costs

Each turn costs ÂŖ1.50 (one credit). You get two free turns when you set up your club, so you can play your first two weeks for nothing and see exactly what you’re signing up for before spending anything. After that, credits can be bought individually or in bulk bundles at up to 25% discount. There’s also a season payment option if you’d rather sort it and forget it. No subscriptions, no hidden fees, no pay-to-win. Every manager in the game is on the same footing. Success comes from making better decisions, not spending more money.
💡 Soccer Supremos is significantly cheaper than other PBM football management games currently running. Value for money is something we take seriously.

🤝 The Community

The manager base skews toward people who played PBM games in the 1980s and ’90s – many of them former Soccer Supremos managers from the original run who’ve come back for another go. But there are newer managers too, and they settle in quickly. The game isn’t complicated to pick up; it’s just deep enough that there’s always something new to think about. Communication happens across a few channels: WhatsApp groups for each league (where most of the real banter happens), the website’s forums and messaging system, and the weekly Matchday Magazine PDF that goes to every manager after processing – which includes a message from me and a full notice board of manager submissions. I’m directly accessible. If you’ve got a question, a complaint, or an idea, you can reach me at ref@soccersupremos.com or via the in-game messaging system. I reply to everything, usually the same day.
âšŊ Ready to give it a go? Head to the Club Listing to see what’s available and take your first club – it takes about five minutes and the first two turns are on the house. If you played the original game in the ’90s, you’ll feel right at home. And if this is all new to you – welcome. You’re in for something a bit different.
