Welcome to the February newsletter — the first Sunday of the month already, somehow.
I hope you’re all surviving winter storms, frozen pitches and dodgy refereeing decisions. Down here in Cape Town, I’m losing sleep thanks to the heat… so clearly we’re all suffering in different ways 😅

Let’s crack on.

🏆 LEAGUE STATUS UPDATE

All three active leagues are ticking along nicely. While we still have a handful of unmanaged clubs, the vast majority of managers are submitting turnsheets regularly and keeping things competitive. Love to see it 👏

🔥 League 1 – Season 3 (Final 10 Weeks!)

• Things are really heating up

• Packed with experienced, battle-hardened managers

• Only a few unmanaged clubs remain

👉 If you want a challenge and don’t mind being thrown in at the deep end, this is your league.

🧩 League 2 – Season 3 (Just Started)

• Very early days — plenty of jostling for position

• This league currently has the most unmanaged clubs

• Great opportunity to take over a solid club and shape its future

👉 Ideal if you want room to grow and make your mark.

🎭 League 3 – Wrapping Up Season 1

• Season 1 concludes this week

• League is mostly full, but now is the perfect entry point

• Sign up before Wednesday, and I’ll consider a club rebrand just for you

Full disclosure: I run a club here myself… and I’ll be starting Season 2 in Division 3 😬

🛠️ GAME IMPROVEMENTS (January)

🧠 New Non-Player STUDY Orders – Now Live

All three new STUDY orders are complete and active:

• STUDY SQUAD – Analyse your own squad

• STUDY CLUB – Target another club

• STUDY CIRCUIT – Investigate players & non-players for sale

Each can uncover insights in four key areas:

• Hidden Potential (max possible rating)

• Learning Ability

• Personality Traits (golden boy or bad boy 😈)

• Private Lives (events that affect value, behaviour… and firing decisions)

These are now live, and I’m keeping a close eye on how they settle into the game.

💰 Circuit SELL Order – Major Upgrade

The CIRCUIT SELL order has been fully reworked and is now live:

• Choose how many weeks to list an individual

• Set a minimum acceptable bid

• Improved financial split:

  • 100% to the selling club up to market value

  • Anything above is split 50/50 with the Circuit

This is a much better deal for clubs and should help stimulate the transfer market.

📊 New: Full Bid History Sheet

You can now see:

• All bids placed that week

• Winning and losing bids

• Which clubs bid, and how much

Previously we only saw the winning bid — this adds transparency and insight.

🔮 WHAT’S COMING IN FEBRUARY

Next up on my list:

• Final non-player tweak: Youth Coach – RECRUIT order

  • Needs fine-tuning

  • More manager options coming

After that (time permitting):

• On-pitch improvements

• Fixing substitutions

• Revealing only the tactics actually used in matches

February’s a short month, but we’ll see how far I can push it 🚀

💳 PAYPAL SURCHARGE (The Not-So-Fun Bit)

I only charge £1.50 per turn, which is already low compared to other PBMs — especially with bulk discounts (up to 25% off).

Unfortunately:

• PayPal fees are brutal

• Example: On a £15 payment, PayPal takes nearly £1 (99p!) 😤

Because of this, I now have to apply a £1.50 surcharge to PayPal payments to cover their fees. I’m really sorry — this one’s on PayPal, not me.
