HINT SHEET #2
Hidden Potential & Learning Ability
Know their limits. Master their growth.
🧠 Hint Sheet #2
⭐ Hidden Potential & Learning Ability Explained
🌟 1. What Is Hidden Potential?
Every player and non-player staff member has a Hidden Potential (HP) rated from 1–100%.
🔹 It acts as a rating ceiling — the highest Rating a player can ever reach.
🔹 Most players won’t reach 100%, making high HP highly valuable.
🔹 HP affects how much future value a player holds — not his current rating.
🔍 2. Stages of Discovering Hidden Potential
| Stage | Description | Example Shown | Actual Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0️⃣ Unknown | No info at all | ? | — |
| 1️⃣ Rough | Within 25% | >70% | 70–95% |
| 2️⃣ Refined | Within 15% | +70% | 70–85% |
| 3️⃣ Known | Exact value | 79% | 79% exactly |
📝 You can move through these stages gradually, or skip ahead if using skilled staff or get lucky.
📁 Once Stage 1 or above is known, it remains on the player’s record and transfers with him.
🕵️ 3. How to Uncover Hidden Potential
✔ Training sessions
✔ Assigning specific coaches
✔ Youth Scout reports
✔ Personal Spy missions
✔ Circuit player investigations
⚠ Most external discoveries (Circuit, other clubs) are temporary and not saved to the player’s record unless he joins your team.
💡 4. Why Hidden Potential Matters
Determines the maximum Rating a player can reach.
Once close to his potential, skill growth slows down.
Does not affect current market value, but informs better transfer decisions.
Smart managers track it to:
✅ Plan long-term investments
✅ Manage training intensity
✅ Time rating increases & contract negotiations
🎯 5. Smart Strategy Tip
Some managers intentionally delay Rating increases by focusing on Secondary Skills first, keeping the Rating lower while raising overall ability — especially effective when far from potential. Risky but powerful when done right. ⚠️👀
🧑🤝🧑 6. Hidden Potential Also Applies to Non-Players
Staff can attend Assessment Camps to uncover their HP.
Works the same way — affects how high their skills (and usefulness) can grow.
🧠 7. Learning Ability (Aptitude)
Learning Ability (LA) = How fast a player improves skills.
Also out of 1–100%, with four discovery stages:
| Stage | Description | Example Shown |
|---|---|---|
| 0️⃣ Unknown | No idea | — |
| 1️⃣ Vague | Vague Descriptor | High |
| 2️⃣ Accurate | Accurate Descriptor | Elite |
| 3️⃣ Known | Exact value | 82% |
🔹 Found via training, coaching assessments, youth scouting and spying.
🔹 Stays on the player’s profile once learned.
⚖️ 8. Why Learning Ability Matters
Higher LA = faster skill growth.
Low LA players can still reach potential — but take longer.
Ideal combo = High Potential + High Learning Ability.
Doesn’t influence current market value directly — but smart buyers pay extra when they know it!
✅ 9. Final Takeaway
Hidden Potential = How far a player can go.
Learning Ability = How fast he’ll get there.
Together, they are the foundation of long-term squad planning, transfers and training success. 🚀
